From honey and Jamun to tendu patta and amla, our work ensures better income and dignity for forest dwellers.
Samarthak Samiti supports tribal communities in understanding, claiming, and exercising their rights under the Panchayats (Extension to Scheduled Areas) Act (PESA) and the Forest Rights Act (FRA).
Strengthening livelihoods based on Minor Forest Produce is a core area of Samarthak Samiti’s work. The organisation supports forest-dependent communities to sustainably collect, process, and market NTFPs while ensuring fair returns for producers.
Women play a central role in forest-based livelihoods. Samarthak Samiti works to strengthen women’s collectives and leadership so that women actively participate in economic activities, decision-making, and governance of community institutions.
Samarthak Samiti promotes ecological and low-cost farming practices that enhance soil fertility, reduce dependence on chemical inputs, and improve the resilience of small and marginal farmers in forest and tribal regions.
Samarthak Samiti works to strengthen community-owned institutions so that producers collectively manage production, processing, and marketing of forest and agriculture-based products.
Samarthak Samiti places strong emphasis on knowledge generation, awareness, and innovation to strengthen forest-based livelihoods and community institutions.
